ABOUT US

With members across the state of Indiana, rock ‘n roll band Free Joel adds a breath of fresh air to the historic rock scene by utilizing heavy riffs, the blues, and psychedelic elements into their music. Further inspired by upbeat dance tunes from the seventies and onwards, Free Joel explores everywhere between good ol’ rock and blues, as well as funky grooves that you can’t help but dance and bob your head to.

Members Noah Martin (vocals, guitar), Jillian Burton (vocals, bass, keys), Reid Webber (guitar), and Kyle Krawczyk (drums), met in 2021 in their mid-size college town of Muncie, Indiana. After exploring their potential playing for local bars, parties, and city-wide festivals, the band has recently traveled back to where the name “Free Joel” first came to light - in northwest Indiana and surrounding Chicagoland. With a new city to call home, Free Joel has continued to land gigs around the Midwest at Chicago’s Navy Pier, Taste of Highland Park, as well as opening for Grammy-nominated artist, Afroman.

After landing a spot on a Spotify-curated playlist, Free Joel’s single “I Wanna Keep It” has caught the interest of modern blues-rock listeners around the world. Gained traction on streaming services has pushed the band to release their first EP, titled “No Future,” which retains their blues-rock roots, but refuses to be defined by just one sound.

Most notable of Free Joel, however, is their on-stage chemistry, with a frontman who jumps around the stage and into audiences, as well as the supporting members, who feed off of each other’s high energy. As the band continues to take the Midwest by storm, they suggest that there is only one more thing for listeners to do - catch a show and find out who Joel really is.
